Puffy Eyes? Try Chamomile and Roses!

It is just a few weeks into the school year and I can already see the stress of keeping up the schedule showing up on my face! I have puffy eyes. Ugh! Time to pamper myself a little.

We can all use a little pampering now and then. No…you look fine. I’m just saying!

You have probably heard of using cucumber slices on your eyes.Yes, cucumber works, but I have something even better…

Teabag

Chamomile tea and rose water both help shrink swollen, puffy eyes. You can find rose water at natural pharmacies, health food stores or through mail order (rose hydrosol is available from Lavender Lane here) . If you can’t find it near you, you can just use the chamomile.

You will need:
1 bag of chamomile tea
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp. rose water

Heat the water to almost boiling. Remove from heat and add tea bag. Cover and steep for six minutes. Remove tea bag and add rose water to the tea. Refrigerate the tea for at least 45 minutes to cool. To use, soak two cotton pads (the kind used to remove makeup) in the tea. Squeeze out excess. Lay down and place one tea-soaked pad on each eye. Relax for 10 minutes.

Your eyes will thank you later.
