Technical Difficulties

Hey everyone!

For the past several weeks, I have been experiencing some “technical difficulties” here on my blog. I can best describe it as my site is a bit “wonky” at the moment! I can only post with text – no pictures and we are having trouble with other areas of blog. Everyone who looked at the site has been stumped!

I finally had to call in the big guns: First a programer – Then my designer – Then another programer and finally well…we are still working on it. Once we get it all sorted out, I have a slew of posts backed up that will roll out as soon as possible.

So stay tuned and thanks for your patience!

UPDATE 6/5/13:

Man, we are “this” close to being up and running again! We are moving the site to a new host and tweeking as we go. (That is why it is taking so long.)

Meanwhile, we have been filming Season 4 of Growing A Greener World and I have been canning like mad. With the new 1982 farmstead and my urban homestead to glean from, we have a whole lot of homegrown flavor going on!

Thanks for waiting everyone. We are very close to being fixed!

      Hi Laura,

I am STILL having technical difficulties. It has been TERRIBLE! I have been dead in the water for a month. Part of the problem is that we are in full production for our TV show on PBS and so, I can’t spend all day talking to programers and technical support people to try and fix it. I had a programmer work on it for 2 weeks but he could not fix everything. After discussing the problems with several techies, now I am working with someone to move my site to a new host. We are basically rebuilding it from scratch to fix it. I can’t write or post other than text and comments. Hopefully, I will be up and running within a week. (Finger’s crossed) But this is killing me! Thank you for checking in. I miss posting!

oh man! i just discovered your blog today (andrea from frugally sustainable pinned your portable foraging post). i’m loving everything you write! we are hoping to start raising chickens in town this summer or fall and i love your coop set up! is that an old dog house? if not, i’m wondering if i could use one and adapt it. would the smell of a dog having been in it be a problem? i found a great deal on a hardly used one on craigslist (20 bucks!) and am hoping we can make it work. thanks for any info you can share and hoping your problem is fixed very very soon! i’m so excited to be checking in and, of course, scouring previous posts. and if you find you are still having major trouble let me know – my brother is a computer guy (programmer/engineer/has his own business) i can get him on it :)

Thanks Jessica – I’m hoping we have this figured out soon.

It was not an old dog house, but that would totally work! I bought my coop from a guy who just builds coops, so no dogs were in it. But I do NOT think it would be a problem to use an old dog house at all. I am so glad you checked in. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter!
