Most of you know me as the Associate Producer for Growing A Greener World TV, but a few weeks ago, I got a promotion to “Co-Executive Producer“.
What does this mean?
Well loosely translated, it means that I’m Joe Lamp’l's “wing man” for producing the show.

L-R: David Pennington, ME, Christa Hanson, Joe Lamp’l and Carl Pennington
But I have actually have already been doing THAT job for quite awhile! I now just I have the fancy title and new business cards to go with it.
But the new title change made me reflect on the last 2 years working with Joe and the awesome people who help put this show together.
It takes a village to produce a TV show!
Filming Joe in the edible landscape of Ros Creasy. (Obviously it was a hot day!)
Whew! What a whirlwind it has been!
We have been traveling the country telling the stories of people and places making a difference through gardening. And through that, I have met some of the most amazing people and have seen inspiring gardens.
But what truly makes this job so rewarding are the people I work with.
Chef Nathan Lyon (Co-Host), Christa Hanson (Social Media Director),
Carl Pennington (Director of Photography) , ME, Joe Lamp’l (Executive Director)
and David Pennington (Camera 2)

Joe and Robin Haglund (Script Writer)
Producing a Public Television show is not easy. There are long hours, grueling shoots, high stress and it seems that something always goes wrong…

Rewriting the chicken show script minutes before filming…Ahhhh!
But when you work with a group of incredibly dedicated and talented people who also keep level heads and come together as a team…it creates MAGIC.
Todd Brock (Advising Producer), Me and Joe on the set of “Backyard Chicken Keeping” – One of our favorite episodes to be coming up in Season Two.
Many of our episodes just seem to flow into incredible stories and each GGW team member adds their own sparkle to the overall product. The best part is that we all have each other’s back and we all pull together when the going gets tough. No egos. No power-plays.
And when we are not working extra hard? WE LAUGH!!!
And we have fun!
And we enjoy each other’s company.
And Joe and I would not be able to do what WE do without the help of Joe’s assistant Jordan Crossingham and my production assistant, Heather McClain. Every single person on the GGW team is a joy to work with and it is an honor to help make Joe’s vision of a “Greener World” into a reality on television.
Go Team!

I’m glad you emphasized the fun part, ’cause truly it is a blast. And, even when things seem to go wrong, and they certainly do, it’s so wonderful to know the whole team will pull together to make it right. Kudos on the promotion Theresa & big cheers for all of your amazing work!
True Robin and thank YOU for being the newest member of the team. We just love having you on board!
When are y’all doin a show here in my neck of the garden writing woods?
Hi TC,
You are in Pennsylvania, right? We did some filming near you last year, but unfortunately it does not look like we will be near you for the rest of this season. Bummer!
Perhaps next year?
~Theresa
Congratulations on your new title and fancy biz cards…LOL! Glad you’re having fun and doing such a terrific job!
Thanks Teresa!!!
Congratulations on your new position! It sounds like a lot of work too, but as long as you are enjoying it. What do you recommend for a beginner like myself to watch? Thanks!
Thank Karina!
You mean you are a beginning gardener? That is great!
We have several episodes that cover different types of gardening. If you like to grow edibles, I think I would recommend the episode on my garden:

And we have another episode on this topic coming up in a few weeks.
If you are into a different kind of garden style, tell me what it is so I can recommend something else!
Sounds great! Thank you for all of your kind help. This is very helpful and informative!
Glad to help!!!
