When Chickens Make You Breakfast

This past Saturday, Charlotte (my Polish chicken) made us breakfast. (As she does every morning)

I just have to say:

There is something so cool about a Saturday morning breakfast of ham and eggs with freshly harvested eggs — still warm from the hen…

And yes, Charlotte is a very "fancy" chicken. Here is a video I made of her when she was just a few months old:

My husband just looked over my shoulder and said “that chicken is a Vegas show girl!”. I think she’s beautiful!

LOL Carri – She does look like a Vegas show girl, especially when she walks. I wanted to name her Tina Turner, but my boys had just read Charlotte’s Webb and wanted to name her that.

If you watch the beginning of my first Living Homegrown video blog, you see a shot of her full grown in all her glory:

Wow! I LOVE your chicken coop! Have never seen one like it. It just became legal in our city to keep chickens..my hubby and I have been talking about it. :) Your coop totally inspires me!

So glad you like it Diana!

And congrats on chickens becoming legal in your area. That rocks! I hope you decide to add chickens to your garden. They are fun.

I just love this! My mom told me about your blog today and I’m loving it. I’ve been trying to convince my hubby to let me have chickens. He was pretty impressed with this post…I think he’s getting closer to loving the idea like me. Thank you!
