You know how I am the Canning Expert (and Associate Producer) for the Growing A Greener World public television series? Well, we just launched a new Canning and Preserving Blog over on our website! Each week, I will posting on how to preserve the harvest and capture local flavors in a jar.
Come on over and see!
I already have post on:

Great Website.
Here is a link to my blog where we made fig jelly out of fresh figs.

Wonderful! I just sent the link to the canning crushed tomatoes to my hubby.
Thanks!
I love to learn all I can about canning. This is my first garden that I have grown and I am looking forward to my fresh goodness all the rest of the year. I am glad that I found your site because you make it seem really easy and fun to do.
Fun Jessy!
It IS fun and easy!! Stay tuned for more…

You have one of the best sites I have found on the internet. You make things look so simple and fun to do. I love most of your recipes and have share them with all my friends. They think you are great, too. I hope we will see some more recipes about tomatoes in the future. I like to mix almost anything with them.
This is really great. I am just finishing up on all of my canning. I hate to put my canning supplies away. This means that I have a cold hard winter to get through before I can get back to my favorite place in the world. My garden.
Perhaps I am in a minority, but one of my favourite jams is tomato jam, not too sweet. When you have a glut of tomatoes why not try making jam as well as chutney.
Last year I purchased some cute little canning jars at Savers. I filled them with sewing kits, made a pin cushion on the top, and sold them at the local Farmer’s & Crafter’s Market — they were a hit!
Now I am searching for the same jars, and can’t find them.
They were short and squat, and had embossed fruit all around it. The cap insert was white and circled with multi-colored fruit.
Jarden/Ball no longer carries them.
Can you help?
Hi Cleo,
I wish I knew where you can get those, but I can’t find them in my searches. You might try http://www.KitchenKraft.com as they have some unusual sized jars. Maybe one of them would work.
Good luck! Your project sounds very cool!
