I just returned from Raleigh, North Carolina where I was attending the GWA Garden Writer's Conference.
Wow!
My head is still swimming with all of the information and ideas I got while I was there. It will take me a few WEEKS to decompress!
There were some wonderful tours of some beautiful gardens (which I will share with you soon) and I met some truly incredible people there — Many I have "known" through Twitter and Facebook. It was great to match a real face and person to the on line picture I had known.
And many other people I met were new to me. But all were creative, enthusiastic and down right fun to hang with!
I still have to download all my photos and put together a few posts from the garden tours, but wanted to post this photo of our last night there. You can tell that we were dead tired, but still having a blast!
Thanks to Laura Schaub for taking the photo (@Interleafer on twitter and blogging at Interleafings).

Not pictured: Christa Hanson @tinkhanson, who we discovered was upstairs at the time singing Karaoke! Wish we hadn't missed THAT!
More to come…

I’m not there either. Because, I was ASLEEP while everyone was partying. CLEARLY I missed some good times! @gardenofwords
Katie!
I thought you were singing too!!! Man, you missed a good time. But it was great to meet you and get to know you in person!

Karaoke?! LOL!! So glad you had fun and I look forward to seeing photos and reading more about the conference!
Sorry I missed that. Was this your first conference? I remember coming home and thinking I would never wrap my mind around it. I now have three under my tool belt and felt better at this one. Loved seeing you face to face.~~Dee
Hi Teresa-
Yes…Karaoke. That is why we were in the bar downstairs! LOL We didn’t want to sing! But we would have loved to watch some of our writer friends do it. I’m sorry we missed that part.

Hi Dee-
No, this was my 3rd conference too. But I have been a member since 1994!! It was my second in a row. My first one was before kids! Then all the conference going came to a screeching hault. It is nice to be back in the groove with the conferences.
I LOVED catching up with you face to face too.
Now that looks like a rowdy bunch if I’ve ever seen one! What a blast, this was my first Garden Writers Conference and all of you are a big part of why I came! So great to meet you in person.
Even though you didn’t come hear me sing LOL.
Hey Tink (Christa) so glad you stopped by. I promise that if you are ever singing again, we will come cheer you on!
Hope you are coming to Dallas!
