I have been meaning to post about this since the beginning of summer!
Remember that educational garden project I was working on? (We installed an educational garden at a local elementary school. It will be used for all the core curriculum classwork including science, math, language arts, etc.)
Well, you only got to see the “BEFORE” garden photos…
And now I wanted to show you some of the “AFTER” garden photos…
Here is one of the “Three Sisters” gardens planted by a third grade class.
Here a group of students check out the lamb’s ears in a fifth grade colonial garden.
The garden has been a HUGE success.
In fact, HUGE does not even cover the magnitude of the success. Gardening has sparked something in these kids and they are absolutely engrossed in the entire process. It has been very rewarding to see so many children getting an education in nature, horticulture and the joy of growing food…and they don’t even know they are learning!

Brava!!!!! Excellence in teaching! No better way to learn than by doing. And on top of that, they’re producing food. Beautiful gardens too.
Thanks Coneflower. I agree. They learn so much by just being in the garden and whant they learn “sticks” better as well.
