San Francisco Garden Show Post 2 – Display Gardens

March 27, 2009 · 0 comments

The San Francisco Garden Show was teaming with Veggies! There were veggies and herbs in almost all the display gardens. That…and succulents! I was in heaven!

One of my favorite displays was by the San Mateo County Recycle Works and the Master Composters of San Mateo County. Their display was called: "Actinomycetes, Worms and Fungi, OH MY!"

There were master composters in the display preaching the virtues of composting and worm composting. I saw them recruit several converts that day! Way to go!

Another display that had people talking featured huge metal storage units that were converted into charming potting sheds and garden retreats. I guess if you can't build a shed (especailly in an urban setting) this could be your solution. It locks up like a vault!
