A VERY Last Minute Gardener Gift

Okay, you are down to the wire now. Do you still have a gardener on your gift list? Give them bulbs! It's simple, it can be put together in minutes and they will love you for it.

If you want to fancy it up….Paint a flowerpot with chalkboard paint. (2 coats takes about 5 minutes to do).

Let the paint dry for an hour, then write something charming on the chalk rim. Place an amaryllis bulb and a small baggie of soil inside the pot and tie it with a bow. DONE!

To give this to a non-gardener, plant it first. I like to add a half inch of aquarium gravel to the top to cover the dirt. It keeps the pot neat and tidy looking. My kids make these as teacher gifts each year. (Hence the chalkboard paint feature.)
